Introduction to ChineseChurches.org

This site is dedicated to:

  • Reverend and Mrs. Edward Ling and their extended family in Toronto and grandchildren as they serve formally and in "tent-ministries" in China and North America. The photo of the gold gilt wood carving at the top of this page was initiated by Reverend Ling and paid for through his organization of private donations and shipment through a friend who was a ships captain, bringing the large wooden sign from China to the Victoria Chinese Presbyterian Church in the 1970s to help commemorate the 80th Anniversary of that congregations establishment.
  • Reverend Howard Ha, the first full time pastor of the Victoria BC, Chinese Pentecostal Church in 1955, when this congregation was still a rented store front mission supported by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Glad Tiding's Pentecostal Church on North Park Street.
  • Reverend Cheung, Lutheran Pastor of 4 congregations in Guangdong Province, supported by the Lutheran Church of Germany, in China in the 1920's through the 1940's and whose grandson Philip Cheung, today is pastor with Immanuel church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada - ministering to Cantonese and Mandarin speaking Chinese.
  • Miss Knapett, English as a Second Language volunteer teacher with the Victoria Chinese Pentecostal Church in the 1950-s and 1960s.
  • We would like to give recognition to volunteer leaders supporting the publication of Christianity Today News Publication, based in Abbotsford and their prayers and moral support during the period of a number of deaths o members of this sites web publishers family.

This web site was in the beginning the main web presence of the Chinese Presbyterian Church in Victoria, B.C. and the major "web booster site" for the Vancouver Chinese Presbyterian Church (on Cambie St.) as well as the Seattle, Washington State, Chinese Pentecostal Church, under its current pastor the Rev. John Ip.  There has been significant creative and prayer support from members of the Chinese Pentecostal Church in Hong Kong and Vancouver as well as Baptist congregation members, the site has evolved into promoting a wider range of Chinese language congregations in Canada and the USA and we are beginning to support the work of ministries and missionaries serving Hong Kong and Asia.  in 2010 the Presbyterian Church is in process of developing its own web sitge - as the original sponsors and inspirational supporters of that churh's web promotion work have died or left the congregation.

The site design, content and production is done through the volunteer efforts of members of both the Victoria and Vancouver Chinese Pentecostal and Chinese Presbyterian Churches.
